What is the flower of Norwich?
The county town of Norfolk, Norwich's county flower is the common poppy, or Papaver rhoeas. This vivid red flower blooms from June to September and symbolises remembrance. Interestingly, it only grows in areas where the ground has been disturbed (which explains its prevalence on the battlefields of the First World War).
