The choices of flowers reveal a touching insight into the children's perceptions of father figures. When asked why he picked white chrysanthemum, Beau, aged 5, answered: “My dad is big and strong, the [white chrysanthemums] look just as strong as my dad.” And while yellow roses are a reflection of happiness and camaraderie, that was not top of mind for Freya, aged 6, who instead explained: “The yellow flowers are beautiful just like my dad. He helps me pick buttercups when we walk our dog Ziggy, and they remind me of the buttercups.” Our final creation is a beautiful expression of these chosen blooms.
If he favours foliage over florals, encourage his love for the great outdoors with a houseplant that will bring him joy.
